Hot on the heels of asking you to visit your representatives, the Tea Party Patriots national organization is shifting activities to DC on Wednesday, September 9th. We understand that Senator Ted Cruz will be in attendance, and will now also be joined by Donald Trump.
It should be treated as a treaty and the US Senate should have to approve it by a 2/3rds majority vote. The senate is abdicating its Constitutional authority, and should be forced to do its job!

AN END-RUN AROUND CONGRESS & THE CONSTITUTION
- President Obama submitted the terms of the agreement to the United Nations before providing Congress the opportunity to weigh in.
- Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution states: “The President … shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur… “
- The Obama Administration says the Iran Deal is not technically a treaty. However, if it acts like a treaty and looks like a treaty, it should be treated as a treaty.
- There is bipartisan agreement on Capitol Hill that the President overstepped his authority by going to the U.N. for approval of the Iran Deal before he got Congress’ approval.
