DON’T GET TEA-BAGGED! The Tea Party zombies are walking the streets of America. Grab your weapons and bash their rotten brains to bits! Destroy zombie Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Glenn Beck, the Koch Brothers, and many more!
That’s the promotion for what may be the most evil video game ever offered to the public. Titled “Tea Party Zombies Must Die,” it was made available on the internet earlier this month by StarvingEyes Advergaming, a company that produces video games for corporations to use in marketing campaigns. Patrons of the hatemongering company include a long list of illustrious corporations, many of them household names. The StarvingEyes web site no longer lists patrons, but several media outlets had already published selected lists. (See lists here, here, here. and here.)
StarvingEyes has also taken down the game (although, as of this writing, their web site still features the large banner that people click to play). Portions of a video of the game being played before it was removed have been posted on the internet. See the video.
This video and reports by journalists who saw the game depict propaganda so vile it’s hard to believe it could have been produced in America and against a group of Americans. It allows players to shoot conservatives dead or bludgeon them to death with crowbars (never mind that zombies are already dead). Yet the media have paid scant attention.
One scene in the game takes place in the studios of the Fox cable network–the “fair and balanced” network that liberals loathe–after some apocalyptic event has turned the conservative personalities there into zombies. The goal is to kill Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Brit Hume, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and a semi-nude Michele Bachmann. There’s a “blonde anchorwoman breeding pit,” alluding to the many blond female reporters and commentators on Fox programs.
Another scene is a trailer park where players can murder a “Stupid pissed off white trash redneck birther zombie” and a zombie in a ku klux klan robe carrying a sign that says “Obama half-breed Muslin[sic].” Graffiti on a wooden fence read “More Tax Cuts 4 Rich Foke” and “Go Back 2 Kenya.” A confederate flag is painted on the fence. The subtext of this scene is that residents of trailer parks and rural areas in the South are degenerate morons who deserve to be put down.
Many of the zombies to be executed have long descriptive labels:
“Expresses racist views anonymously on the internet modern klan zombie”
“Factory-made blonde Fox News Barbie who’s never had a problem in her life zombie”
“Generic pissed off old white guy zombie”
“Climate change denial zombie”
“Koch Industries Koch whore lobbyist pig zombie” (referring to the wealthy Koch brothers who fund conservative causes)
“Tea Party racist zombie”
“We tricked the God people into believing in tax cuts for the rich executive zombie”
When players lose a game, a sign appears: “You’ve been teabagged! You didn’t have health insurance, so you died. There’s no such thing as God, so you died for eternity.” Other signs support liberal dogma, such as a claim that Obamacare will reduce the deficit.
The game preaches a perverted gospel of “hate your enemies” and kill conservatives. It’s an extreme manifestation of the intensifying liberal hatred of the Tea Party and others who oppose leftist views, which I wrote about in an earlier post. In Obama’s recent divisive speeches, he’s made it clear that he intends to inflame his base further with “us against them” oratory and motivate them to contribute to and work for his re-election and turn out to vote for him. The great danger is that the passions he unleashes won’t be confined to the political arena but will be expressed in real-life re-enactments of the slaughter in “Tea Party Zombies Must Die.”
