From our Friends at the Chester Patriots comes this announcement of a special convention for Chesterfield County Sheriff on Monday the 20th. This would be a great way to top off your day after visiting the General Assembly for Lobby Day 2014.

From what I’ve seen online amongst the “tea party/patriot” community members is that Karl Leonard enjoys the broadest support. Please reach out to your fellow residents/tea party supporters for guidance if you need to learn more about the candidates.

FYI The Republican Committee selected last night to use a convention because of a time constraint. By court order, the committee must select a candidate by Tues January 21st, 2014 @ 5PM.
This is your notice to inform yourself about the two Sheriff candidates and attend next Monday evening at the DoubleTree Hotel.

Remember “We get the government we deserve.”

As you may have heard, Sheriff Dennis Profitt, with whom we share many core beliefs with, is retiring.  There will be a special election help to fill the position of Sheriff on March 18th; however, we know that the candidate selected by the Republican Party via convention this Monday evening at the Koger Doubletree Hotel will determine our next Sheriff from one of two candidates running for their nomination for that office.

Our next sheriff will be Karl Leonard or Jerry Baldwin.

Karl Leonard, who has worked closely with Sheriff Profitt over the years, has his endorsement. He has 30+ years with the Chesterfield Police Department, Richmond Sheriff’s Office and the Chesterfield Sheriff’s office. He has also served with the U.S. Coast Guard.

Jerry Baldwin, who has the endorsement of State Senator Steve Martin, Delegates Roxann Robinson and Rob Bell, among others in the Republican party. They are supporting him because they believe he has the experience needed for the job and his record of working to elect Republicans to public office.

As you may know, the office of Sheriff is the most powerful elected position at the local level. It is imperative that we have a strong candidate that will stand up to our Rights and protect us from those that wish to abuse those rights. So we would urge everyone and all of your like-minded family members and friends to pile into vehicles and attend this county convention on Monday January 20th to make your voice heard.
