Ann Coulter penned a blistering condemnation of the federal GOP leadership today, providing frank commentary on how they seem to be intentionally throwing the debate on illegal immigration/amnesty. As we’ve suggested previously, neither major political party appears to intend to take a tough, fair, and legally grounded approach to addressing the illegal immigration problems we see today.
Why don’t Republicans spend all their airtime attacking the media for lying about what Obama’s amnesty does and what the Democrats are doing? It’s hard to avoid concluding that Republicans aren’t trying to make the right arguments. In fact, it kind of looks like they’re intentionally throwing the fight on amnesty.
If a Republican majority in both houses of Congress can’t stop Obama from issuing illegal immigrants Social Security cards and years of back welfare payments, there is no reason to vote Republican ever again.
After seeing another story today on how Jeb Bush is totally in the tank for amnesty, it’s hard to envision how the GOP will ever take a serious stance on defending the rule of law and securing our borders. We’ll be watching to see how the DHS funding debate ends up in the next few weeks. Hopefully Congressman Randy Forbes will be watching as well…as he greatly harmed his credibility (with his vote for the “cromnibus” package) for promises of action on immigration. I’m thinking that things aren’t going to go his way.
