The Chesterfield County Republican Committee will be conducting a canvass on Monday evening (today) to elect some new committee officers. Contested seats include the Vice Chair of Projects and the Corresponding Secretary positions. As we detailed previously, one of our own (Dan Barto, RTP volunteer coordinator) is running for the Vice Chair of Projects position, while friend of RTP Freddy Boisseau is running for the Corresponding Secretary position. Many of you may know Freddy from his work with the local Chester Patriots organization, and for his participation at the Board of Supervisors meetings.

Dan recently penned a call for unity in the county, which you may read HERE. As we’ve detailed previously, RTP believes in citizen participation in government, and we thank both Dan and Freddy for stepping forward and being willing to serve.

For the canvass this evening, any registered Chesterfield County voter (with valid photo ID) may vote in the election, provided he/she signs a statement of intent to support republican candidates. If you are someone who meets these criteria, please consider participating, as government is only better when you’re a part of shaping it.
