Shake-up in the General Assembly coming? Washington Post is confirming an earlier report from The Bull Elephant that former VA Lt. Governor candidate and Stafford County supervisor Susan Stimpson is set to challenge current republican House speaker Bill Howell in Virginia’s 28th House district.

Stimpson was very vocal in her opposition to the transportation tax hike, and shocked some in her party when she refused to toe the Republican party line and talk favorably about the transportation tax package. House Speaker Bill Howell was instrumental in raising taxes for everyone in VA, so we imagine that she will run on that opposing position. Her opposition to the bill garnered her significant tea party support in her LG run, so this race could get interesting FAST.
