Richmond, VA—The Richmond Tea Party announces the “Cantor Encounter!” event. This is a street demonstration outside Congressman Eric Cantor’s office, followed by a town hall. The event will be held September 4th.
The Richmond Tea Party and fellow grass roots activists will be joined by Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, L. Brent Bozell III, Chairman of ForAmerica, and C.L. Bryant, producer of the award-winning movie “Runaway Slave”, to call on Congress and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to exempt Americans from Obamacare, and to protect American workers from blanket amnesty.
“Obamacare as a healthcare solution is ‘DOA.’ It is killing jobs, raising costs, decreasing care options, endangering privacy, and burying us in red tape. As an alternative, we advocate that Americans should have the liberty to make their own insurance choices within a free market,” says Richmond Tea Party Executive Director Larry Nordvig. “Another issue of immediate concern is blanket amnesty for illegal aliens. Amnesty would be fiscally irresponsible, worsen unemployment among U.S. citizens, especially low-wage earners, and undermine the Rule of Law. We support enforcing the laws already on the books.”
