Not a citizen? Have a felony conviction? Adjudicated mentally incompetent? No Problem!! You can still vote if this new rule goes into effect.

The Virginia State Board of Elections (SBE) wants to make checking the box for each of these questions on the voter registration form immaterial! So, according to the proposed rule, if the applicant just leaves these questions blank, they can still register to vote.

If you see any potential problems with this, please let the SBE know by making a public comment BY AUGUST 3 (TODAY) at 11:59 PM at http://www.townhall.virginia.gov/L/comments.cfm?stageid=7235.

The law hasn’t changed and the Virginia Constitution (Article II, Section 1) says a voter has to meet these criteria to be eligible to vote. This is an administrative ruling that seeks to undermine the duly elected General Assembly members…YOUR voice will be discarded.
