Since I made a negative post earlier this morning, I thought I’d balance it with something positive. (And I can’t overstate how positive this is.) The Statists in Washington thought they could ram one more reckless deficit-ballooning, liberty-stealing bill through in the lame duck session while we weren’t paying attention after the election and right before the Christmas break.

Oops:

The Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, said Thursday night that he was abandoning efforts to pass a $1.2 trillion spending measure to finance the government through Sept. 30 because Republicans would not support it.

Turns out we were paying attention and were busy holding our representatives accountable. And we’re not going to stop. I heard a Tea Party leader from Michigan call a radio show this week and say something like, “We’re going to be hounding the people we sent to Washington until they’re sorry they ever ran.” I love that. And I know it’s true of the Virginia Tea Parties as well. As much as leaders of both parties think—and desperately want—us to go away, we’re not. In fact, we haven’t even begun yet to fight for liberty.

Here’s looking forward to a rockin’ 2011.
